Everyone who loves interior design knows how many wicker baskets can play a significant role in decorating a home. They ennoble every room you put them in, and they are also useful for storing personal belongings. However, the problem is that such baskets can cost a real small fortune in stores, but don’t worry!
We have found a great solution to this problem, you can make a decorative basket for the house yourself, without knitting! Instructions are waiting for you below.
DON’T MISS: Do it yourself – home organization projects
- cardboard boxes (choose the dimensions yourself, according to what suits you)
- jute material
- fabric glue, super glue or glue from a gun
- acrylic paints of your choice
Open the boxes from the top, and cut the jute into the dimensions of the boxes.
Coat all the edges of the box with glue and start gluing the jute from the sides first.
Attach them to the edges with pliers so that the jute sticks well to the box.
Then, glue the edges of the jute to the bottom of the box.
Do the same on the inside of all the edges of the box.
If you want, you can paint jute in a variety of patterns and geometric shapes.
You can also add a bow, buttons and whatever else comes to mind that would fit with the interior of your home.
Also, our advice is to “tuck” the box inside into a fabric or an old pillowcase, so that everything you put in it will look nicer.
This do it yourself project is proof that you don’t have to spend a lot of money on expensive decorative items, it’s even more interesting when you make it yourself!
